Luminous Collaging Techniques

Take your collaging skills to the next level with this exciting and expansive class using luminous Pebeo acrylic paints from France, collage elements, and finally oil paints. The incredible richness of color and dimension will blow your mind! Using vintage photos, postcards, and any other paper ephemera, we will create magnificent works of art like never before! Various techniques will be shown on applying the various layers to your surfaces. Students will create one to three pieces per class depending on the individual's speed. All levels are welcome. Bring your passion!!!

Mosaic with Vintage China
and Found Objects

Taught by Phoenix Forrester

Two-day Class
Cost $155.00 + 6.875% tax + materials.

We will be making a small shrine using vintage china pieces, the thinner, delicate china, rather than the heavy industrial kind, along with found objects. Using a strong piece of wood , preferably with a small ledge on the bottom, approximately 12"by 12" or 12" by 16", like and old wooden drawer.We will spend the first 4-hour class adhering the china and objects to the surface, using a special adhesive, in a pattern of your choosing. The "theme" is up to you. The final 4-hour class will be spent grouting your piece to complete it. You will then have the skills and product knowledge be able to go on to more elaborate and complex pieces.

The Art of Silversmithing

Two-day Class
Cost is $195.00 per class+ 6.875% tax and materials.

Join Phoenix in learning the basics of sawing, piercing, forming bezels, making ring shanks, soldering, stone or found object setting, and constructing one or 2 complete pieces of jewelry in his 8 hour class. A weekend Sat/Sun 4 hours per day 1-5pm or 2 hours an evening or 4 weeks 6 - 8pm. You may make a ring, pin, pendant or earrings. If you've ever wanted to learn silversmithing, this class is for you. Beginners and those who want refresher course are welcome.

Little Knitted Wire Garments

$65.00 + 6.875% tax + materials

This is a fun class for people who already know the basics of knitting. (Cast on, knit, pearl and bind off.) From this basic knowledge, we will be knitting little garments with copper, colored artistic wire, or sterling wire. We will create little 2-D sculptures, one or more depending on your speed in this four class. They are wonderful in assemblage/collage works. We will embellish with tiny beads and tiny trinkets.

Wonderful Whimsical Found
Object Art Dolls

Come and create one or two found object art dolls with Phoenix, whose motto is: Have fun and share the joy! Starting with a large object for the main body, we will explore a range of options for the other parts, from a round clock face to a curvy piece of old wood or a rusted piece of old metal. The Art of Beeswax Collage
